Online Tutoring for Reading 101
Course Description
Reading 101 teaches reading to beginning, struggling and non-readers in grades K-1 and higher. There are multiple curriculum levels in this course, and skills taught will vary based on students who enroll. Students are placed at the appropriate level based on pre-testing and plan selected. Lessons build on each other so students advance only as they show mastery.
Students will learn: to identify letters as sounds, correct letter reversal problems, blend sounds into words using phonics, rhyming words, commonly confused words, phonetically irregular words, read fun, interesting sentences and stories (which get more complicated as students progress), new vocabulary words and meanings (in the first 120 lessons of our program, students learn the most commonly used 1,000 words in the English language comprising 80% of spoken vocabulary), significantly improve letter-sound and oral reading fluency and answer literal comprehension questions.
We charge a small enrollment fee of $50 to first-time students and those not enrolled within the last 12 months.
