Tutoring for Reading and Language Arts

Our expert instructors, interactive curriculum and intensive MasterMind Methodology get results faster than conventional tutoring and other intervention approaches. We teach the skills and strategies for students to master success step-by-step by focusing on the reading priorities identified as essential by the National Reading Panel. In live sessions, instructors work with students in small groups at school or via cutting-edge video conferencing. In blended programs, students also spend time on interactive self-paced online programs monitored by tutors.

Multiple Levels of Reading and Language Arts

Students are placed at a level where they can succeed based on pre-testing and advance as they master skills.

Beginning Reading

For students in grades K-2 or higher who are non- or struggling readers who need to learn phonemic awareness (letter sounds), phonics (blending letters to form words), have trouble reversing letters, guess at or misread simple words and sentences beyond their sight vocabulary.

Phonics, Vocabulary and Fluency

For students in grades 2-4 or higher who need or want to improve reading accuracy and speed (phonics, vocabulary and fluency) to assist with comprehension. Symptoms include students who read slowly and hesitantly, have difficulty pronouncing longer multisyllabic words, avoid reading, have weak vocabularies, difficulty comprehending what they read.

Comprehension and Critical Thinking

For students in grades 3 and higher whose reading decoding (accuracy) is at grade level but who need or want to improve reading comprehension and critical thinking to understand the meaning of text as well as reading fluency.

Writing and Grammar

We also work with students on writing and grammar in middle and high school.
